Robert Treat Farm Market Stand

Our farm store holds a whole variety of items to delight and surprise you as
the seasons change. When we first open in April, the farm store is bursting with
color – potted tulips, hydrangea and the scent of lilies lift our spirits. Frost-hardy pansies are ready to be planted as we all shed our winter coats and anxiously
await the warmer weather. Easter flowers and baskets are followed by an
abundance of annuals, perennials, vegetable plants and herbs. May brings the
first edible crop of the season for us – asparagus and with it the promise of so
much more as the Connecticut growing season gets underway. By early to
mid-June if we are lucky, we will start to see strawberries, radishes, beets
and carrots from our own fields.

In July, August and September, our pavilion is overtaken by an array of
homegrown crops (see crop availability listing on Farm page) as well as
good things from other local farms. Our mouthwatering sweet corn starts
ripening in mid-July, when we also start to bring in our beautiful cut flowers.
Our fridges are stocked with interesting gourmet foods for you, many of them
local, such as farmstead cheeses, honey, pesto and Connecticut milk in
glass bottles. We also host the Woodmont Farmers’ Market which starts on July 1.

October and November see all the highly nutritious cool weather greens
coming in, and after Thanksgiving, we get ready for Christmas. The smell
of all those trees and the wreaths is intoxicating and our variety of unusual
poinsettias bring so much color as the days get shorter.

Sign up for email updates so we can keep you informed about the seasonal
wonders as they arrive – such as corn and vine ripened tomatoes, two long-time favorites of our customers who come far and wide to buy them year after year!
